Age Limit as on 01-07-2018: Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years
Education Qualification: Candidates should possess a degree in Science or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission in the pattern of 10+2+3. Candidates should have studied Tamil as a subject in X. If not studied, candidates will have to pass the Tamil-Part II Test conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within 2 years of joining the service.
Application Fee: Rs.1000/- for all category & the Police Departmental candidate apply for both open quota and departmental quota will pay Rs.500through Online mode by using Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card (OR) Bank Challan.
Pay Scale: Rs. 36,900 – 1,16,600/-
Selection Process: Through written examination, Viva-Voce & Physical Test.

About Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board (TNUSRB):
Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) came into existence in the month of November, 1991 for the purpose of smoothening the process of recruitment of personnel associated with the uniformed services such as Police, Prison, Fire and Rescue Services.
The functional body of the TNUSRB constitutes of one Chairman in the rank of Director General of Police, one member in the rank of Additional Director General of Police, one Member Secretary in the rank of Inspector General of Police, one Superintendent of Police, one Legal Adviser, one Senior Administrative Officer, One Deputy Superintendent of Police, one Personal Assistant and 20 other office staffs. The organization has been entrusted with the responsibility of recruitment for the categories like Police Department i.e. Sub-inspectors of Police (Men & Women), Sub-inspectors (Technical) (Men & Women) Grade II Police Constables (Men & Women), Fire and Rescue Services Department : Firemen, Prison Department : Grade II Jail Warders (Men & Women). Thiru. T.K Rajendran, IPS, is the present Chairman and Thiru.Vinit Dev Wankhede, IPS, is the member Secretary of the TNUSRB.
While the DGP/Chairman has been empowered to sanction and incur expenditure as defined in Tamil Nadu Financial Code Vol. I & II, the DGP along with the Inspector General of Police and Member Secretary are empowered to sanction pay and allowances. The meeting of the Board is usually convened by the Member Secretary who also finalizes the selection of candidates as reviews the recruitment process periodically. The Member Secretary is assisted by the SP of the TNUSRB.
