SJVN Limited is a Joint Venture in between Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh. The company is a ‘Mini Ratna’ and Schedule ‘A’ PSU or ISO 9001:2008 Certified Company which is controlled by Ministry of Power, Government of India. It was built in the year 1988. The Country’s largest Hydropower station which is Nathpa Jhakri of 1500 MW is strongly operated by SJVN. It is also establishing a unique standard in technology and routine maintenance each and every year after experiencing the soil abrasion issues in under water turbine components.
Starting from a simple hydropower project limited, at present SJVN possesses a large number of power projects, consisting of Hydropower projects in Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and in the near-by countries ofBhutan and Nepal, a Power Transmission Project in Nepal, a Thermal Power Project in Bihar,Solar Power Projects in Gujarat & Rajasthan andWind Power project in Maharashtra.
The company is directed by the full time Chairman and Managing director and 4 operational directors. On the top of that, there are 2 part time Directors affiliated with Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh. Moreover, there are 4 independent Non-official part Time Directors. The Board of Directors are controlling the business of the company.
