About Kochi Metro KMRL Jobs/ Vacancy, Exam Syllabus
Kochi Metro KMRL work is going to be completed by June 2016. This is first segment which will be operational by next year. The expected cost involved to complete the entire project is around 5181 crore INR.
Kochi Metro was supposed to be operational by 2010 which was not possible as the Kerala government expected the Centre will provide funding equivalent to the Delhi Metro. The LDF state government desired to be in public sector which the Central Government did not agree. The United Democratic Front were certain that Kochi Metro should be at par with the models of the Chennai Metro and Delhi Metro. Finally the project was started with the investment of both Central Government and State Government. The Union Government in involved into the execution, process and looking after the metro work. There were in total 22 metro stations planned on the line.
A lot of controversy came up with regards to the project, in December 2011 Kerala Minister for Public Works declared that the project would be offered by universal tender. Quoting the examples of Bangalore and Chennai projects they decided to do the work on its own but would take guidance from DMRC. After all odds on January 2013 a top level meeting was attended and it was formally declared DMRC would accept Kochi Metro Project.
Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) Applications invited for various posts in Operations, Maintenance, Customer Relation and Business, Health and Safety, Finance and Accounts (F&A) and Human Resource (HR) Department. It is a good opportunity who wish to join prestigious metro projects in India.
