  • Between 18 years to 25 years.
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Educational Qualification:

  • For Category-I: Candidates should have possessed Degree from recognized university with Sports Qualification.
  • For Category-II: Candidates should have passed 12th Class with Sports Qualification.

Pay Scale: Negotiable

Application Fee : 

  • For Others: Rs. 500/-
  • SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, PWD, Women, MBC & EBC: Rs. 250/-

About Eastern Railway

Eastern Railway has started its operation in the year 1952 and one among Indian Railway’s 17 zones. The Eastern Railway was known as East Indian Railways, in short EIR since 1845 and the first train was run in the year 1854 for East Indian Railways. Later on the three lower divisions of EIR that is Howrah, Asansol and Danapur, the entire Bengal Nagpur Railway (BNR) and the Sealdah division of the erstwhile Bengal Assam Railway got amalgamated together to form  Eastern Railway in the year 1952. The Eastern Railway is headquartered at Fairlie Place in Kolkata and mainly covers the routes in the states of West Bengal and Bihar.

Currently the Eastern Railways have got four divisions under its fold such as Howrah, Malda, Sealdah, and Asansol and each is headed by Divisional Railway Managers on top. The Eastern Railways has got a total route kilometres of 2680 out of which 1501 Kilometres are electrified. The total track kilometres is 4696 out of which 3805 Kilometres are electrified. The Eastern Railways have got 575 railway stations under its fold and all are fully functional. The total number of trains running in Eastern Railways are 1955 with which the total up and down passenger load is 33 lacs Passengers/day.

The Easter Railways is headed by General Manager. Shri Ram Kumar Gupta is the current General Manager heading the zone and Shri B. K. Patel is the Additional General Manager. Eastern Railway is very much keen in having quality personnel for its day to day operations from lower level to higher level cadres and recruitment notifications go live throughout the year for selection procedures. Being the largest employer of the country, it has attracted lot of employed as well as employed youth to get into their desired profiles and make a fruitful career with the Railways.
